One of the best things about winter is the opportunity to use fun layers and lots of contrasting colors. I'm loving the gray and pinks seen in this sweet little combo. Since it's too cold to actually go kite-flying, a girl can be whimsical about it.

Outfit of the Week

I was surprised to stumble across this hidden gem from outofprintclothing.com. This tee of In the Night Kitchen by Maurice Sendak showcases one of my favorite (and one of the most underrated Sendak books) ever! Since this book is a bit hipster, I decided to go all out and pair it with colored skinny jeans, suspenders and (Ms. Mommy's personal favorite), highly sensible shoes!

Outfit of the Week - Swimwear Edition
By Petunia
It is never too early (or too late) to think about swimsuits! This has been an unnaturally hot summer in Oregon and has required me to wear my swimsuit much much more than I did when I was a baby. Plus, going to the kiddie pool, water parks, lakes, and beaches are much more fun when you look stylish and have everyone cooing over you!
Actually, Ms. Mommy says it is too late to buy a new swimsuit. Which brings us to never being too early. Good note: swimsuits are on sale! Great time to look forward to next year! I love the ruching and old-fashioned appeal of these two suits. The sunhat is great for the beach. If you're like me and burn easily, a swim hat might be a more sensible (and still fashionable) option. What's your pick?

I'm not even two, and even I know that windmills are a BIG thing in Oregon. Literally. If you've ever been staring out of the back of your car from your car seat and see a monster truck pulling one of the windmill arms, you understand what I'm talking about. But what I'm supposed to be talking about is how much I love this shirt from Happyfamily. It's been a while since Petunia and I have gotten to blog and I lose track of myself.

There are few things I love more than a smart graphic tee. As a future tree hugger and supporter of small businesses, I love this tee from GnomeEnterprises on Etsy. The trick to making a basic tee classy is knowing what to pair it with. Instead of just grabbing a pair of jeans, try classying it up with these awesome plaid shorts from The Tea Collection. Top it off with red kicks and *bam*!

Confession: I'm not that into walking. It's not that I can't do it - it's just that hopping along on my knees is easier, faster, and (let's face it) more adorable. Lately, Ms. Mommy has taken to making me walk all the time and is even threatening me with ugly "supportive" shoes. As if!
Here's an idea...what about adorable sparkle shoes!? Did you see they're Toms?! Love. It.

Let's just start by being totally honest - I have never been to Seattle. Nor do I have any relatives in the Seattle area who could justifiably send me this shirt. Which is not to say that I don't love this awesome shirt from PigeonCameraDesigns anyways. In fact, the only thing I know about Seattle is that it rains there more than it does here. That's good enough for me. Speaking of which, we've had lovely weather here lately (in case this post couldn't get any more boring and generic, yes, I am going off about the weather). I just can't help myself - I love this overshirt from GapKids! It completely meets my need for practicality and tops it off with a dash of preppy classic. Perfect for those spring days (y'know, the one's where it's not raining).

As you know, we are humongous nerd babies. What you might not know is that we were born this way. Yes, I was in fact named after a Science Fiction book character. And he did have a clone. Which leads me to positively adore this shirt from VicariousClothing on Etsy. Edgy and completely geeked-out, yet it still maintains the dignity of classic style. Match a catchy phase with a driving hat and pop of retro-styled red kicks and you're the snazziest baby in the cul-de-sac.
