Outfit of the Week

By Earl
If you happen to reside in the Pacific Northwest, you know that the seasons are Rain and Summer. When 3/4 of your year is spent in either a drizzle or a downpour, it's important to be fashionably prepared. I'm loving how bright this look is - even when it's dreary outside!

Vintage, & Ruffles, & Bows, Oh My!

By Petunia

This is one of my newest outfits! It's a Vintage Couture piece that I absolutely love!  Ruffles are a great choice for a new walker - I love the way they move with my body.  This was a perfect choice for my imaginary Tea Party this morning.

Here's a close-up of my boutique hair clip. It's darling, isn't it?!

I owe a huge thank you to One Mama's Daily Drama, who held the giveaway in which Ms. Mommy lucked out and won this beautiful top for me! It came with a darling pair of matching pants too, but they are far too long on me still, so I went with a pair of warm BabyLegs tights instead.

Fashion Favorites

By Petunia
Let's talk about one of my favorite fashion pieces - the TuTu!  While not an essential, I believe every baby girl should own one!

This lovely ensemble was a gift from Ms. Mommy - but you can have your mommy make one, too!  All it takes is some tulle, some silk, and a nifty ability to craft!  Or you can enter our giveaway and win one for free here!

How to Wear the Color Pop

By Earl
Welcome to the Weekend!  Today my Auntie Em and Uncle Chaz came over to celebrate the beginning of spring with us!  They are both very fashion forward people, so I figured it was a good time to break out the classic, yet always stylish, Color Pop!

The Color Pop is a great way to take a traditional outfit and spice it up for the springtime!  Here I take one of my favorite classic pieces - the sweater vest - and top it off with a bright orange hat! From winter to spring instantly!

Casual Friday

By Earl
Hey there, Fashion Friends! Happy Friday, once again! Today's casual Friday features me, Earl, rockin' the nerdy hipster look. Yeah, baby I even have a collar! I am workin' this look! Really though, this is an easy one to pull off. After all, it is casual Friday. I'm not even wearing socks.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Blue Thursday

By Earl
It's been snowing again. I know, right? It's Spring! As a result of all this ice and cold that's keeping us indoors and making the sky a dreary grey, Petunia and I are feeling somewhat blue. It seemed a fitting color choice for today's outfits.

Keep your fingers and toes crossed for warmer weather soon.

Outfit of the Week

by Petunia
I adore all the bright colors in this sweet springtime collection!  Ms. Mommy has developed a new love for ruffle tops, and I'm also loving the multi-layered ruffles in the bright orange Gymboree top!  Capri pants are also nice for the babies on the shorter side - like me!

Fashion Icons: Auntie Ameilia

by Petunia
It may come as a shock to some of you, but fashion sense is not something one is born with. Earl and I would not be half as well dressed (Ms. Mommy sometimes lets us wear or pajamas all day) if it weren't for the influence of one of our favorite people. You might call her a fashion icon, but we simply call her Auntie Amelia! Today my aunt has graciously agreed to sit down with me for a brief Q&A.

Auntie Amelia, how would you best describe your own sense of style?
I like to call it "classic casual".

What is your favorite, current, fashion trend?
Pastels and soft neutrals.  I'm especially loving these paired with the ruffles and lace which are coming out this spring!

What is your least favorite fashion trend?
There are two trends I'm going to warn you about - and these are pieces of advice that will carry you through your years to come:

1. Crochet.  Please don't wear it unless it is a present from G.G. or some other auntie.
2. Pastel Nail Polish.  I understand you will go through stages later in life (and that Ms. Mommy thinks this trend is perfectly okay and has already bought you some pastel blue polish), but if you don't know what to do with your colors, a shade of pink will always work well.

What one piece of advice would you give to someone who is "fashion challenged"?
The most important thing in your wardrobe to have are the nice "essential" pieces (i.e. black tops, nice jeans, classic blazers).  Once you have the essentials, you can change accessories and add fashion pieces to match the current trends.  Spend more on the basics that you can wear across the seasons and you'll have more to spend on those fun pieces as they come and go.

I leave you all with the above photos of my auntie rockin' one of her early Spring looks. Keep on being stylish, Auntie Amelia!

What We Wore When Grandma & Grandpa Visited

By Earl
Hey again, Fashion Friends! For our second post of the day, Petunia and I thought we'd share what we wore the last time our Grandma and Grandpa dropped by for a visit. We get very excited whenever any of our delightfully fun grandparents come over, so naturally we dressed up for the occasion.

On this day Petunia opted to wear a bright yellow top by Gymboree, loads of ruffles in the form of her Carter's onesie and pants, and of course a cheerful bee clippy to keep the bangs out of her eyes!

I chose one of my current favorite tops, this daring orange tee by Zutano. It's a shame you can't see the awesome car images on the front, but Ms. Mommy was rather enamored with my singing (despite Hank's claim that I was just slobbering on the microphone) so I'm afraid this is the best shot we have.

What I Wore - Faux Pas Edition

by Petunia

Happy Sunday, Fashion Friends! We apologize for not updating the blog yesterday. I'm afraid we were out having too much St. Patrick's Day fun with Mr. Daddy and Ms. Mommy. To make it up to you, today we're going to post more than once! First, I am going to share a fashion faux pas. This isn't really my faux pas, it's my Daddy's fault.

What I wore to the park last week, when Daddy took the day off work and thought he'd try his hand at being my stylist:

Why, Daddy, why?!

Casual Friday!

by Petunia
It's fun to dress up, but there's nothing wrong with going casual- especially at the end of the week! I'm a busy girl today, so I need an outfit that is both cute and comfortable.

This outfit is the perfect, cheery, end to a rainy week: a pair of flannel-lined jeans from Carter's keep my legs cozy, a plain white onesie warms my arms, and an adorable owl tee from Gymboree adds layers and a splash of color. An adorable rose hair-clippy made by my auntie Amelia keeps the hair out of my eyes and completes today's look.

How to Rock the Shades

By Earl
Petunia and I like to give Hank a hard time about his often dubious wardrobe choices, but we really do think he's a cool guy. And every now and then our big brother pulls off a move like this:

Mommy was trying to take some photos of Petunia in the new onesie our G.G. (that stands for Great Grandma, for all you un-hip baby hipsters out there) appliqued for her, when Hank slipped on Daddy's old sunglasses and  got right in front of the lens. Now that is how you rock your style. It's all about the confidence, baby!

Outfit of the Week

By Earl
It's that time of week again, and this time it's my turn to share the choice of the week.  My favorite part of spring is all the soft, natural hues and classic prints.  Petunia gets pink every day, so I'm pairing my choice with a muted blue and contrasting patterns to add that fun, new springtime vibe.  This outfit has me ready to visit Grandma and Grandpa at the beach with the sand between my toes!

What I Wore On Monday

by Petunia

This is one of my casual "around the house" wears.  This dress is one of my super comfy Tea Collection pieces.  I paired it with a classic white long-sleeved onesie and tights.  The real winner of this piece is the bright pink floral headband from a local boutique.  I'm going through the awkward "baby mullet" stage so have been trying to incorporate headbands more into my daily wear.  Plus, it's fun to watch Earl suffer as he tries to pull my headband away!

As you can tell, this outfit may not be my favorite.  Next time, I'd pair the dress with some bright colors to bring out the design in my lovely Tea Collection dress.  With springtime around the corner, it's time for Ms. Mommy to go shopping for those pinks, greens and yellow basic collection pieces!

What Hank Wore To The Park

By Petunia
Today we're taking a look at one of Hank's past fashion choices.  Unfortunately, it's not far enough in the past for me to be over it yet.  Hank's going through (let us pray) a phase where he's insisting on picking out his own clothes.  Since my big brother's a three year old genius, he's also learning about matching colors.  Matching is important, but Sesame Street really ought to be simultaneously teaching lessons on coordinating colors.

If I could get Hank to listen to just one thing I say, I'd tell him it's not okay to match the same color clothing on top of each other.  He doesn't care about matching his shoes, but pants and shirts he throws a fit about! Boys!

Since we're on the subject, can we also discuss his color choice for the day?! Grey? Look at that blue sky! And sweatpants and a polo?!

Hank gets 1 style point for being able to climb so high on the jungle gym.  Earl insists on giving him 2 because, well, look at how high Hank's climbing!

What To Do When You're Trying a New Fashion Statement

by Petunia

What can I say, I'm a sunshine baby! I would rock the baby mini-dress and patterned cloth diaper all year if I could.  But my absolute favorite part of summer? - All the fun new trends!  Many of you babies might understand, there's not a lot you can do with the baby mullet. That's why I devised the "Piggy Tail Bows" look!  What do you think? Personally, I think it's a bit too babyish to be revised again for this upcoming summer.

If you're going to try a new look, you better own it all the way.

What We Wore To The Library

by Earl

Today was one of my favorite days- Library day! Ms. Mommy took us on a special outing to our local library for story time. Then, because the sun was shining and it was a balmy 54 degrees outside, we drove to a nearby park. I must say, I was one of the best dressed toddlers out there (never mind the bark chips and grass stains I acquired).

What a dapper young fellow I am! Sweater and pants by The Children's Place, onesie by Carter's (it reads "Hug Magnet"), shoes by Wee Squeaks. Petunia was crabby, but still looked chic in a new Gymboree shirt. Her jacket and pants are by Carter's, sandals by Stride Rite (they used to be mine), and socks by Old Navy (they make the best ankle socks!). I'd hate to leave out Ms. Mommy and big brother, Hank, so here they are in their library/park outfits.

Ms. Mommy could have used some accessories, and those jeans need washing, but I give this outfit a B+. And Hank, for once, looked acceptable in the outfit he picked for himself this morning.

Wherever you are, dear readers, I hope you're enjoying warm weather too!
