What We Wore to the Donut Shop

By Petunia
This weekend brought us the first signs of summer - 80 degree weather!  What better way to celebrate than a walk to the donut shop?!  Ms. Mommy woke up early so we could ride in our wagon to downtown and enjoy a little start-of-summer treat.

Nothing says fabulous like matching your donut to your accessories!
Earl reached an instant sugar-high that he got to work off outside the rest of the day.
Even Hank got in on the action!  Here's to more sunny days and trips to the donut shop!

What I Wore: Shirt-Dress Edition

By Petunia
Some days, you might find yourself at the park wearing nothing but a hat, shirt, cloth diaper, socks, and shoes. That's what happened to me on this hot day in September. Mr. Daddy and Ms. Mommy took me, Hank, and Earl to a nearby park. I was wearing pants, but it was just too warm to be traipsing about like that, so off they came! After all, toddlers can get away with using their cloth diapers as a fashion accessory, and mine just happened to be a matching red. Plus, with the little ruffle at the bottom, this adorable shirt could be mistaken for a short dress!

Little Ms. Mommy ~ Party Dress Version

By Petunia
Good morning, Fashion Friends! Today I'd like to share with you two photos of me in my favorite party dress. Everyone (and by "everyone" I mean a few relatives) says I am the spitting image of Ms. Mommy (in her toddler days, of course) at times, and this first photo appears to be one of those times. I had no idea Ms. Mommy was so adorable!

Looking Good & The Importance of SUNSCREEN

By Petunia
As Earl stated in Tuesday's blog post, just because you're in the wilderness doesn't mean you shouldn't still try to look your best! It is possible to meld fashion and function. Take this outfit, for instance. I may have been a little grumpy from lack of sleep (who knew the forest would be so noisy at night?), but I was still rockin' a stylish outfit at the breakfast table!

One thing we haven't mentioned yet, which is an essential for any outdoor excursion: sunscreen! You must protect that delicate skin. Our sunscreen of choice for this trip was Neutrogena SPF 70. Now, unfortunately, that particular brand and SPF does not get the best rating on the Cosmetics Database. Ms. Mommy wanted the highest SPF we had available while on the beach though, as Earl and I are very fair skinned and could burn quite easily! We doubled our sun protection by wearing long-sleeved rash guards on the beach, and wearing hats whenever possible.

More information on safe, high SPF, sunscreens can be found here, at the Cosmetics Database

Adventurous Adventures of Earl

By Earl
Camping is a lot of fun, especially when extended family is involved. Just because you're in the wilderness though, doesn't mean you can't look good. Here I am exploring the campsites in my trendy plaid shorts and semi-matching straw hat with the plaid band.

Ms. Mommy packed a LOT of clothes for our camping excursion. A 2 to 1 ratio, as in two outfits for every day we were there. More clothes than we ended up wearing, but it's better to be safe than sorry when you're in a place without washing machines, and where it is inevitable that one's shirt will wind up soaked, stained, or stinking within a matter of hours. So tell us, how many extra outfits do YOU take camping?

It Just Doesn't Fit

By Petunia
I'm sure we all have an article of clothing like this in our closet: the dress that doesn't fit. It might be too big, it might be too small, perhaps there's one little area that just isn't right. But you love it. You can't get rid of it, or wait to grow into it, or let your cousin borrow it, because it's just too cute.

This is my Cuidadela Smocked Dress from Tea Collection's Spring 2011 collection. The color is cordovan. Isn't that delightful? Even the name is gorgeous!

As you can see, I have some more growing to do before this dress fits me properly. I can't help but want to wear it though! The bright blue sparkle hat was perhaps a poor choice of accessories, but I really have little in the way of headcoverings that fit these days. But that's a topic for another post.

Chillin' With My Bros

By Petunia

Greetings, Fashion Friends! Sorry it's been so quiet on the blog lately. Summer has finally struck the Pacific Northwest, and that means lots of time outside! We've been keeping Miss Mommy ridiculously busy. Although the warmer weather has arrived, we sometimes still have cool mornings. On days like this, I layer. Here's one of my latest outfit concoctions:

If you're stuck with only brothers, you might as well embrace it. Here I've chosen to borrow a pair of Earl's shorts, and Hank's train conductor hat. Which I'm wearing backward, in case you hadn't noticed.

Be brave. Be bold. Embrace your style.

Shorts: Osh-Kosh B'Gosh
Leggings: Gymboree
Shoes: See Kai Run - Smaller
Hat: Something Hank got from the grandparents.

What We Wore When We Played House

By Petunia
Well hello there fashion friends! Earl and I have been enjoying a bit of rare, Oregon sunshine this week. Ms. Mommy has been very busy chasing us down, now that we're both fully mobile (the orthotics in my shoes are making a world of difference in my walking abilities!). Just between you and me, that Earl can be a bit of a handful. A few days ago he trashed our room at naptime and got his hands on some diaper rash cream. Smeared it all over his face! Ms. Mommy had to call Poison Control. Don't be alarmed though, it all turned out just fine. I hope Earl learned his lesson.

Here are some photos of us enjoying the warmer weather:

These photos really don't do my fabulous Gymboree shirt and matching hat justice. Let me tell you though, they are adorable! For some reason Earl was having a sleeveless Under Armour day. Have a fabulous weekend!

It's Spring!

by Petunia

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I can call you that because it's still close enough to Easter and I'm sure we all have those delicious, sugary, marshmallow treats on our minds. Not that Ms. Mommy let me have any. She thinks I'm too young still. Easter is just one reason it's been so quiet on our blog this past week. Our Grandma was visiting before the holiday, and although Ms. Mommy took a lot of photos, we simply didn't find the time to post anything! She promised me she'd try to get them uploaded soon though. In the meantime, we've been enjoying delightful Spring weather (finally!), so here is a look at what I've been wearing to celebrate the sunshine:

Vintage, & Ruffles, & Bows, Oh My!

By Petunia

This is one of my newest outfits! It's a Vintage Couture piece that I absolutely love!  Ruffles are a great choice for a new walker - I love the way they move with my body.  This was a perfect choice for my imaginary Tea Party this morning.

Here's a close-up of my boutique hair clip. It's darling, isn't it?!

I owe a huge thank you to One Mama's Daily Drama, who held the giveaway in which Ms. Mommy lucked out and won this beautiful top for me! It came with a darling pair of matching pants too, but they are far too long on me still, so I went with a pair of warm BabyLegs tights instead.

What We Wore When Grandma & Grandpa Visited

By Earl
Hey again, Fashion Friends! For our second post of the day, Petunia and I thought we'd share what we wore the last time our Grandma and Grandpa dropped by for a visit. We get very excited whenever any of our delightfully fun grandparents come over, so naturally we dressed up for the occasion.

On this day Petunia opted to wear a bright yellow top by Gymboree, loads of ruffles in the form of her Carter's onesie and pants, and of course a cheerful bee clippy to keep the bangs out of her eyes!

I chose one of my current favorite tops, this daring orange tee by Zutano. It's a shame you can't see the awesome car images on the front, but Ms. Mommy was rather enamored with my singing (despite Hank's claim that I was just slobbering on the microphone) so I'm afraid this is the best shot we have.

What I Wore - Faux Pas Edition

by Petunia

Happy Sunday, Fashion Friends! We apologize for not updating the blog yesterday. I'm afraid we were out having too much St. Patrick's Day fun with Mr. Daddy and Ms. Mommy. To make it up to you, today we're going to post more than once! First, I am going to share a fashion faux pas. This isn't really my faux pas, it's my Daddy's fault.

What I wore to the park last week, when Daddy took the day off work and thought he'd try his hand at being my stylist:

Why, Daddy, why?!

Shirt: Gymboree
Bodysuit: Carter's

Casual Friday!

by Petunia
It's fun to dress up, but there's nothing wrong with going casual- especially at the end of the week! I'm a busy girl today, so I need an outfit that is both cute and comfortable.

This outfit is the perfect, cheery, end to a rainy week: a pair of flannel-lined jeans from Carter's keep my legs cozy, a plain white onesie warms my arms, and an adorable owl tee from Gymboree adds layers and a splash of color. An adorable rose hair-clippy made by my auntie Amelia keeps the hair out of my eyes and completes today's look.

What I Wore On Monday

by Petunia

This is one of my casual "around the house" wears.  This dress is one of my super comfy Tea Collection pieces.  I paired it with a classic white long-sleeved onesie and tights.  The real winner of this piece is the bright pink floral headband from a local boutique.  I'm going through the awkward "baby mullet" stage so have been trying to incorporate headbands more into my daily wear.  Plus, it's fun to watch Earl suffer as he tries to pull my headband away!

As you can tell, this outfit may not be my favorite.  Next time, I'd pair the dress with some bright colors to bring out the design in my lovely Tea Collection dress.  With springtime around the corner, it's time for Ms. Mommy to go shopping for those pinks, greens and yellow basic collection pieces!

What We Wore To The Library

by Earl

Today was one of my favorite days- Library day! Ms. Mommy took us on a special outing to our local library for story time. Then, because the sun was shining and it was a balmy 54 degrees outside, we drove to a nearby park. I must say, I was one of the best dressed toddlers out there (never mind the bark chips and grass stains I acquired).

What a dapper young fellow I am! Sweater and pants by The Children's Place, onesie by Carter's (it reads "Hug Magnet"), shoes by Wee Squeaks. Petunia was crabby, but still looked chic in a new Gymboree shirt. Her jacket and pants are by Carter's, sandals by Stride Rite (they used to be mine), and socks by Old Navy (they make the best ankle socks!). I'd hate to leave out Ms. Mommy and big brother, Hank, so here they are in their library/park outfits.

Ms. Mommy could have used some accessories, and those jeans need washing, but I give this outfit a B+. And Hank, for once, looked acceptable in the outfit he picked for himself this morning.

Wherever you are, dear readers, I hope you're enjoying warm weather too!

What We Wore To The Playground

by Earl
This past Sunday Ms. Mommy and Mr. Daddy took Petunia, Hank (that's our big brother), and I to the playground, and this is what I wore. Here I am sporting a brown sweater-jacket from The Children's Place (slightly large, yes), black slacks, and my favorite pair of squeaky loafers. Simple, timeless, classic.

Petunia opted for a purple, floral ensemble. I think it was a daring choice, though she later admitted that the jacket and pants together might have been overkill.
